Inspired by the Sufi Kalaam "Hori Khelungi Keh Keh" by Baba Bulleh Shah, Bismillah is an ode to the secular spirit of Hindustan. It was conceived as a short social media clip to foster the spirit of co-existence, brotherhood and interfaith solidarity against the backdrop of the festival of colours, Holi. The piece was then further adapted for the stage as a part of the ongoing investigation of finding the secular in the classical.
